The SVP Sustainability Strategy is responsible for developing and leading the Rolls-Royce Sustainability Strategy.
They will coordinate activity across the Group to ensure that we deliver on our sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) objectives and to ensure we are compliant to all appropriate global regulations. They will be responsible for driving approval of the strategy up to Executive Team and Board level and for regular reporting of implementation progress. They will also work with our communications team to ensure that all our employees can engage in our sustainability journey and to shape external communication to investors, governments, media and other stakeholders.

What you will be doing:
- Sustainability teamwork - Bring together and lead a "One Rolls-Royce" sustainability community that can work together to drive us forward as one company.
- Strategic planning - Develop our sustainability strategy by collaborating across the company to align with our wider strategic plans. Monitor and report on sustainability trends, emerging regulations and best practice from other companies and use this knowledge to inform our strategy.
- Implementation leadership - Ensure that we are clear on how to turn our sustainability strategy into actions, with a particular focus on ensuring that we deliver our plans to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions across our global footprint whilst meeting our capital investment budget.
- Compliance - Work with General Council to ensure that Rolls-Royce is compliant with all relevant sustainability and ESG regulations and standards at local, national and global levels.
- Sustainability Operating Model - Develop and embed a Sustainability Operating Model so that we can effectively and efficiently drive sustainability strategy implementation, data collection, reporting and governance across the company.
- Target setting and reporting - Set, track and report on sustainability and ESG targets, ensuring alignment with global sustainability standards and compliance frameworks (e.g. UK TCFD, EU CSRD). Oversee the preparation and publication of the sustainability content of the company's Annual Report.
- Stakeholder engagement - Engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including employees, investors, customers, suppliers, and industry and community groups, to promote and communicate the company's sustainability journey. Serve as the primary point of contact for sustainability related inquiries from investors, NGOs, and other interested parties.
- Risk management - Work closely with the company's risk management and compliance teams to integrate sustainability into the enterprise risk management framework.
- Policy advocacy and compliance – Work with our government relations teams to advocate for public policies that support the company’s sustainability strategy. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and social regulations and standards at local, national, and international levels. Act as a champion for Rolls-Royce sustainability policy and to help bring external and industry energy to topics where we cannot deliver change alone e.g. growth of sustainable fuels.
