Position Purpose
An Environmental Advisor is responsible for contributing to the organisation’s commitment to sustainable practices and environmental protection. They will play a vital role in assessing, planning, and implementing environmental initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. They will continually be improving and promoting a culture of environmental responsibility within the organisation.
Main Tasks
• Implement the relevant Environmental Management Plan and associated sub plans.
• Ensure contractors’ environmental documentation is reviewed and approved in accordance with the required timeframes.
• Regularly conduct environmental surveillance audits to ensure all non-conformances are identified and communicated.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of subcontractors and suppliers in respect to environmental requirements.
• Ensure the company measuring, and testing equipment is correctly calibrated, labelled as required and records maintained.
• Liaise with contractors’ environmental personnel to ensure ongoing collaborative relationships are maintained.
• Assist in the review and approval of contractors’ process control documentation.
• Identify and ensure processes requiring validation are documented and carried out under controlled conditions.
• Review completed environmental records to ensure they verify compliance with specified requirements.
• Undertake environmental incident investigations as required.
• Ensure the appropriate incident investigations are undertaken in accordance with the company requirements.
• Observe safe systems of work relevant to your work area and report potential hazards and meeting key performance indicators.
Qualification and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental management, Sustainability, or a related field
• Proven experience in environmental compliance, risk assessment, and sustainability planning.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
• Certifications in relevant environmental fields
• Driver Licence.
• White Card.
