Your opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Safety Health Environment Quality (SHEQ) Manager to join our Tunnelling & Major Projects Business Unit.
Reporting to the GM of Tunnelling & Major Projects, the SHEQ Manager will contribute to the achievement of CPB Contractors' SHEQ strategy by managing, developing and implementing initiatives that support a zero injury and harm at the workplace.
As SHEQ Manager, your role will be accountable for:
- Developing and enforcing standards to ensure projects comply with SHEQ regulatory and governance requirements.
- Leading SHEQ staff to ensure accurate, timely and responsive SHEQ services are provided to projects.
- Participating in assurance activities to measure compliance to corporate management systems ie annual Project System Audit, critical risk reviews, leadership walk and talks.
- Leading Class 1 and PC1 incidents investigations as determined by BU General Manager or higher.
- Ensuring our projects maintain an integrated and current risk management framework.
- Proactively developing strategies and initiatives to drive our One HSE Culture Framework.
Our minimum requirements for this role:
- At least 10 years experience in heavy industry or construction, recent experience in major civil and/or tunnelling infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement SHEQ strategies to ensure compliance, minimise risk and enable continuous improvement.
- Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards.
- Strong document control background regarding inspection and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, and will require regular interstate travel.
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
