Reporting to the VP of Sustainability, you, the Sustainability Specialist will support our sustainability projects by ensuring accurate reporting of sustainability data. You will work with different teams to collect, verify, and transform data for public disclosures and sustainability goals. You'll also help develop and maintain sustainability reports and certifications.
Responsibilities
- Partners with broader sustainability group to develop a Citizenship Report Revamp for 2025+, including conducting a full peer analysis of other annual reports and disclosures.
- Collect, verify, and disclose information through data analysis needed to report progress on public-facing goals and plans, including:
- Deforestation Progress: Collaborate with procurement to collect Country of Origin documentation, verify volumes and scoping of ingredients, and transform information for legal review.
- Packaging Data: Work with packaging teams and R&D IT to collect and transform data needed for public reporting entities (US Plastic Pact, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reporting).
- Scope 1, 2, 3 Emissions: Partner with Conagra facilities, IT, data systems, and procurement to pull necessary data and transform.
- End-to-end operational metrics: including energy consumption, water usage, and waste generation.
- Collaborate with Sales, Specs and Inquiries, and Procurement to complete customer reporting requests and surveys, including Gigaton and Thesis reports.
- Lead annual Climate Disclosure Project (CDP) submission and corresponding data collection.
- Draft language for CSR reports with subject matter experts and undergo review process with legal.
- Assess Conagra's risk and standing for completing other voluntary disclosures, such as Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures
- Review reporting efforts related to Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) raters and rankers (EcoVadis, S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment, Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), etc.), including monitoring performance and recommending areas of improvement.
- Facilitate existing certification schemes and act as the contact for projects such as Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil Audits, TRUE Zero Waste Renewals.
- Provide internal education about Conagra's overall sustainability programs through new hire orientation, Future Foodies, and intern/college seminars.
- Collaborate with the data management team to develop a scorecard for progress updates related to goals.
- Collaborate with finance and audit teams to strengthen governance systems around ESG disclosure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Accounting, Finance, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in sustainability reporting, data analysis, accounting or related field.
- Analytical and data skills.
- Experienced working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Excel – Intermediate level, PowerPoint, Power BI and Data Accounting Systems such as: Intelex, SAP, Latis, and Oracle.
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and standards (e.g., Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), CDP, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
- Passionate about sustainability and environmental stewardship.
- Experience managing multiple tasks.
- In office 3 days per week, Tuesday - Thursday
