GHD has an opportunity for a Team Leader / Technical Director to join our growing Midwest EHS Compliance Business Group. This position can be based from any of our Midwest offices (preferred location of Chicago, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Detroit, MI or Columbus, OH) with the flexibility to work remotely. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Collaboration with other leaders in the development and execution of business strategies and initiatives to expand the EHS compliance business in the Midwest Region
- Build and mentor a team that is engaged and driven to provide high-quality results and solutions to our clients’ projects and challenges
- Maintain a high external profile through membership/attendance in industry organizations and continually growing a contact base
- Maintain high internal profile through EHS project pursuits, wins, and delivery
- Lead proposal development and contract negotiation to win targeted pursuits, which leverage GHD’s capabilities and value proposition
- Technical project management and direction while maintaining client satisfaction and ensuring projects are delivered safely and within scope, schedule, and budget
What you will bring to the team:
- Experience building and leading a high-functioning EHS compliance team
- Solid understanding of U.S. EPA regulations, State environmental regulations for various Midwestern states, and OSHA standards/regulations affecting industry
- Experience with EHS compliance and management system auditing, various EHS compliance assessments, environmental permitting and compliance, environmental plan development and implementation (e.g., SPCC, SWPPP, RMP, HWCP, etc.), and H&S written program development and implementation (e.g., PPE, LOTO, confined space, machine guarding, etc.)
- Experience with industrial & manufacturing (I&M) facilities, including the automotive and similar industries
- Proven experience managing and delivering multi-media compliance projects and deep understanding of industry standards
- Development of efficient technical and regulatory strategies and solutions that address our clients' specific compliance needs and challenges
- Ability to travel for short durations which will include overnight travel
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and/or Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Chemical/Environmental Engineering, Health & Safety or relevant field of study
- Minimum 15 years of experience in EHS compliance
