UC RUSAL is a leading company in the global aluminium industry, producing metal with a low carbon footprint. 90% of the Company's aluminium is produced from renewable electricity. We are looking for a Commercial Sustainability, Unit Head to join one of the best commercial teams in base metals. This is COMMERCIAL and MARKETING role in the Sales Directorate. To main purpose of the role is to support the Sales team and be a link with Sustainability Team. This role will create a commercial value out of working closely with the customers, promoting our sustainability strategy and low carbon aluminium products as well as understand Customer needs for future initiatives.
We are seeking a candidate with a wealth of experience in Business Development and Marketing, coupled with a robust understanding of Sustainability principles, to spearhead the promotion of our Low Carbon Aluminium products. The ideal candidate would possess a proven track record in the metal industry, metal processing industry, or metal end-use industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the Marketing strategy for promotion Rusal’s sustainable solutions, including our low carbon aluminium brands
- Proactively engage aluminium users across whole production chain to generate demand for low carbon aluminium products
- Support customers in their request to understand the metrics, processes, policies with regards to Rusal’s sustainable development
- Investigate required sustainability initiatives based on customer feedback and initiatives that we are working to implement
- Support sustainable marketing initiatives, include but not limited to: environmental education, responsible consumption, transparency, circular economy
- Build regular market analytics in Sustainability area
- Continually research and stay abreast of developments in sustainability globally, including regulation
- Share sustainability knowledge and best practice broadly, both internally and externally.
- Attend conferences, exhibitions etc. to showcase our sustainability initiatives to current and potential new customers
- Drive a development of the digital tools for effective interaction with customers
- Support the Sustainability Team on other key initiatives.
- Lead small Commercial Sustainability team
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Passionate about sustainability
- Good knowledge of key sustainability and sustainability aspects such as climate change, carbon emissions, UN Sustainable Development Goals, SBTi targets, GRI reporting, ESG ratings
- Commercial mindset and an experience of shared value creation with the customers in a sales/project/consulting capacity is preferable
- Experience in commodities/ raw materials/ key downstream industries is preferable
- Degree in Sustainability or similar course is an advantage
- Experience with talking to a variety of customers
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent writing skills, developing white papers
- Business development experience is a big advantage
- Fluent in English, other languages are an advantage. Russian is a big advantage.
- Team leadership or project management experience at least five years
