CLASS SUMMARY:

Under close supervision, perform routine and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, instruments, and structures in the Airport’s Environmental System. Operates a variety of vehicles and hand and power tools. Assists journey-level craft and trade personnel. Assists the plant operators with maintenance tasks associated with the storm water treatment plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.

- Performs a variety of semi-skilled duties in maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, instruments and structures.
- Performs Industrial cleaning tasks that may include demucking tanks, clarifiers, and other structures.
- Assists and works with journey-level craft and trade personnel including Electricians and Technicians, as well as other personnel from other departments, including, but not limited to HVAC Technicians, Carpenters, Painters, Plumbers and Maintenance Mechanics.
- Operates a variety of light and medium duty motorized maintenance and construction equipment, including forklifts and crane trucks.
- Responds to plant emergencies via on-call rotation; maintains a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
- Operates a variety of hand and power tools.
- Cleans, maintains and organizes tools, equipment, and shop areas.
- Assists the plant operators with daily plant checks and other tasks as directed
- Maintains a safe, clean and orderly work environment
- Assists in emergencies situations on CVG Airport property, as directed by supervisor.
- Assists in confined space entry, snow removal, operating heavy equipment, and data entry.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED and one year of light maintenance experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid Drivers License.
- Maintain Security Identification Display Area Clearance (SIDA) clearance.
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is preferred or able to obtain one within 12 months

KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Basic knowledge of the materials, tools and methods used in equipment repair and maintenance;
- Personal protective equipment.

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
