Duties/Responsibilities :
- Check in visitors, employees, vendors at the entrance station!
- Conduct safety audits!
- Prevent and detect signs of intrusion!
- Property Patrol
- Open gate to allow entrance or exit of employees, delivery drivers and authorized visitors.
- Check badges and identification of employees and visitors.
- Work flexible schedule.
- Issue visitor or guest badges.
- Answer alarm calls and direct calls to designated Zoo personnel.
- Inspect outgoing traffic to prevent unauthorized removal of company property or products.
- The ability to operate radios and telephone equipment, and console monitors.
- Regular, dependable and attendance and punctuality.
- Ensure the premises are safe from external threats, and that any people who venture into buildings or restricted areas are authorized.
- Contact supervisors in cases of emergencies or threats and attempt to manage situations until help arrives.
- Secure Gates and Doors after closing.
- Keep an eye on irregular or unusual conditions, which threaten to create security and or safety hazards.
- Assist / direct police or fire with direction throughout the Zoo when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work after hours.
- Secure Gates and Doors after closing.
- Unlock designated doors and gates on overnight shift.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of college is preferred.
- At least five years of related loss prevention experience.
- The ability to speak, read and/or write multiple languages.
- The ability to drive and or operate a golf cart motorized vehicle.
Physical Requirements:
- This position involves frequently moving and standing.
- May occasionally involve reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Must be able to lift at least fifteen pounds at times.
