The HR Generalist at our manufacturing site plays a critical role in supporting human resources functions within the production facility. This position involves a broad range of responsibilities related to recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, HR compliance, and coordination of travel for visitors, specifically tailored to the needs of a manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Coordinate the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation sessions and completion of required paperwork.
2. Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Assist in resolving employee relations issues, including conflicts and grievances, in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and provide recommendations for resolution.
3. Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
- Assist employees with inquiries related to benefits enrollment, coverage, and eligibility.
- Coordinate open enrollment periods and communicate changes to employees.
4. HR Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to employee information, benefits, and HR transactions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
5. Visitor Travel Coordination:
- Coordinate travel arrangements for visitors to the manufacturing site, including booking flights, accommodations, and transportation.
- Communicate travel itineraries and logistical details to visitors and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all travel arrangements are made in accordance with company policies and budgetary guidelines.
6. HR Administration:
- Maintain HR databases and systems to ensure accuracy and completeness of employee records.
- Prepare and distribute HR-related reports and metrics to management as needed.
- Assist with other HR administrative tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in HR roles, preferably in a generalist capacity.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
