Summary
Seasonal Retail Sales Team Members are responsible for selling, greeting, and providing exceptional customer service to our guests and answering questions related to the merchandise and the Memphis Zoo.
Essential Functions
· Verbally greet customers, smile, and give provide eye contact.
· Provide a guest friendly environment by asking questions and give directions as needed.
· Respond and handle customer inquiries on the phone and in person
· Ring up guest quickly while providing exceptional service.
· Give the customer the choice of contributing to our conservation efforts.
· Ensures shops are kept clean, uncluttered, and easy to shop.
· Assist in filling in the sales floor as needed.
· Perform daily opening and closing procedures.
· Maintains inventory accuracy.

Minimum Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 1 year of retail or relevant experience, high on customer service skills
· Must be 17 years or older.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job employees may work in outside weather conditions. Will be required to walk from one retail shop to another. May be required to work in shops without air or heat.
Physical Demands
Must be capable of moving across Zoo grounds, standing on feet at 4 to 8 hours a day, and working outside in variable weather conditions. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch , crawl, and walk. The employee may occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.

Expected Hours of Work
The position is a six-month seasonal position, which can be scheduled a minimum of 16 hours a week and a maximum of 40 hours a week. Must be available to work weekends.
