Position Summary: The Memphis Zoo is seeking friendly and customer-oriented individuals to join our team as Cashiers in the Food and Beverage Department. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently processing transactions for food, beverages, and merchandise purchases. Join us in creating memorable experiences for our guests while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the Memphis Zoo.
Essential Functions:
- Greet guests warmly and assist them with their purchases in a courteous manner.
- Operate cash registers and POS systems accurately and efficiently.
- Process transactions for food, beverages, and merchandise, handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment.
- Maintain accurate cash drawers and reconcile transactions at the end of each shift.
- Provide information about menu items, promotions, and special offers to guests as needed.
- Assist with restocking merchandise and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the cashiering area.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.
- Adhere to all cash handling and accounting procedures, following security protocols to safeguard assets.

- Basic math skills and attention to detail for accurate transaction processing.

- Ability to stand for extended periods.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Previous cash handling or customer service experience preferred.
Work Environment:
The work environment is fast-paced and may involve exposure to warmer temperatures. Employees should be prepared to work in a busy and dynamic setting.
