Balcones Recycling East is a leader in the municipal recycling industry. Balcones Recycling was established in 2003 and soon became the cornerstone of the New York City curbside recycling program. In addition to NYC, Balcones Recycling now serves several NJ municipalities and counties, and in recent years has expanded operations to Florida. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our facility in Brooklyn NY willing to relocate to other facilities across North America.
Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading maintenance systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of the process and executing long-term strategic plans.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Observes mechanical equipment in operation to locate causes of trouble
- Schedule, trains, supervise and motivate employees for maintenance tasks
- Coordinate work performed by outside vendors
- Ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates
- Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts
- Control and monitor inventory
- Dismantles equipment to remove and replace defective parts
- Adjusts functional parts of equipment and control instruments
- Ensure that all equipment complies with OEMs and regulatory agencies operating standards
- Ensures proper equipment lubrication in compliance with OEMs lubrication schedule
- Follows preventive maintenance works order procedures
- Develop familiarity with and ensure compliance with safety, health, environment and community company policies and procedures as they pertain to facility operations and equipment usage and operation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Technical School Preferred
- Previous supervisory skills in a diverse, fast-paced manufacturing/production environment
- Excellent mechanical ability and strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and work from a set of written instructions
- Basic computer skills
- Must speak and understand English; Spanish speaking is a plus
- One year minimum mechanical repair related experience in a heavy industrial setting or equivalent combination of education and experience
