In this role as a Sr. Project Engineer for our Battery Advanced group, you will collaborate with multiple teams cross functionally to focus on battery design and development. 50% of your time will be leading projects, 25% presenting and analyzing data, and the remaining 25% of your time will be running tests. You will join a team of passionate team of engineers to deliver the next Milwaukee Tool breakthroughs.
Responsibilities
Leads moderate to high complexity advanced development projects in the Advanced Battery group. This includes up front development of next generation products, features, or processes that remove risk from an NPD project.
Communicates, both verbal and written, to assure all groups are working toward the goal of timely project completion. Communicate technical details, ideas, and concepts to engineers and non-engineers in multiple locations.
Serve as a role model for Milwaukee Tool’s culture while mentoring, guiding, and coaching junior Engineers. Grow your team’s technical capability and future leadership.
Demonstrate Milwaukee Tool’s culture of high performance and agility by independently creating work breakdown structures for your projects and driving to critical milestones. Independently track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee process.
Consistently visualizes entire scope of a project with very little guidance. Identify project risks and implement risk reduction plans.
Schedules, develops agendas, facilitates, and documents project meetings. Drive urgency in project schedules and accountability for establishing and achieving key project metrics that meet the organization’s needs. May occasionally recommend changes to existing standards and procedures.
What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent is required. Preferred degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in system architecture, design, or development.
2+ years of technical leadership, project management, or mentoring others.
Strong understanding of Li-Ion battery system design, test methods, controls, and architectures. Background in battery cell propagation standards and testing.
Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills, exercises independent judgement, and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment
Ability to manage several simultaneous projects at one time is required.
Operating various lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and e-loads.
Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international).
