Senior Design Engineer – Battery New Product Development
This Senior Design Engineer’s primary role uses highly developed engineering expertise and project management/team abilities to contribute to the design and development of new to world battery products in a fast-paced rapid growing environment. You will be part of a team that is redefining what is possible with cordless tools and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead technical resource and mechanical engineering leader on battery new product development
- Provide clear engineering information to Project Leaders and the Global Engineering teams facilitating trade off decisions cross functionally as well as marketing.
- Consistently provide clear and concise communication to technical and non-technical leadership
- Ability to handle multiple mid to high complexity projects either individually or as team lead
- Develop and maintain build test plans and methods between milestones to ensure project efficiency
- Serve as a technical resource on areas of expertise and provide consultation / mentorship to others.
- Experience using engineering problem solving methods (FEA, DOE, Fishbone, FMEA, GD&T) to derive root cause and potential solutions
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Masters preferred
- 5 years of design experience.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD – ProE, Solidworks, NX, or similar as well as FEA.
- Strong analytical skills, knowledge, problem solving, and experience in process development and design evaluation.
- Experience designing lithium-ion battery cores and power routing.
- Experience with manufacturing process – Injection molding, stamping, and plating
- Ability to travel up to 10% (travel includes Domestic and International).
- High interest in tools of the construction trades and outdoor power equipment.
