Our reputable Construction client is seeking a Quality Control Officer (Construction/Renewable Energy/ Civils Industry) to join their team based in De Aar – Northern Cape
Purpose of the job- Quality Supervisor aids the Site Manager and Site Supervisor with the Quality Control on the construction project.
Working Conditions- Normal offices conditions – 15%.
Dusty & noisy construction sites – 85%.

- Qualifications listed- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Construction Management/ Quality Management
- Drivers licence and own vehicle
- 3-5 years in the construction industry
- 3.-5 years as a Quality Officer
- Construction Quality Management/ Client Quality Specifications
- Statistical Process Control
- Basic Quality Control
- Inspection and Test Quality Management System
Key Performance Areas- Ensure the Implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
Ensure the Implementation of the Quality Inspection and Test Plans as well as the Project Quality Plan.
The Quality Control (QC) Supervisor follows a process of inspecting the building works to identify and correct defects.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Construction’s Quality Policies, Quality Inspection and Control Plans and Quality Management System is adhered to.
- Report all patent defects or possible problem areas immediately to Site Manager.
- Ensure that all patent defects are corrected by the responsible team.
- Supervising staff and sub-contractors and coordinating their activities w.r.t. quality deliverables.
- Weekly feedback during site meetings with regards to Quality Control Implementation.
- Ensuring Snagging and De-snagging is conducted as per the Client Snag list and defect lists.
- Ensure the capturing of Density Test (DCP’s) and Moisture test
- Ensure concrete cubes are poured labelled and properly stored.
- Ensure lab test are done on the concrete cubes and Laboratory Cube Test results are captured for 7days, 14 days, 21 days, and 28 days respectively.
- Audit Quality Control documentation as well as the Subcontractors for completeness and correctness.
- Issue nonconformance reports (NCR) for any major defect identified.
- Draft concession request if and when needed.
- Arrange Client and Supplier Inspection of steel structures and manufactured items.
- Ensuring version control of all the shop drawings issued and filed.
- Ensure that production and quality objectives and targets are being met.
- To be Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety conscientious.
- Identify Quality issues that drive the cost of quality.
