POSITION OVERVIEW FOR SENIOR RENEWABLES PROJECT MANAGER
Agilitech has an excellent career opportunity for a Renewables Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of commercial and industrial-scale solar, battery storage, and hydrogen projects, including design and engineering, permitting, project planning, project cost, buyout, scheduling, risk management, etc. We’re seeking a passionate Senior Project Manager who is experienced in EPC and Subcontract workflow and provides leadership and technical expertise internally and externally for project success.

FOR SENIOR RENEWABLES PROJECT MANAGER
- Work with project development and engineering teams to complete detailed engineering and manage preconstruction activities throughout the permitting process
- In partnership with the construction team, plan, execute, and take responsibility for significant scopes of self-performed work, managing subcontractor crews. Plan sequencing, crew sizes, productivity goals, and monthly labor spend. Execute work and track actual results, adjusting and refining forecasts to reflect actual production
- Oversee preparation of project billings; seek to maximize cash flow and reduce pay cycles through diligent & strategic billing preparation. Manage and collect aged receivables.
- Project Estimation: Support the preparation of accurate and detailed cost estimates for a diverse range of projects, spanning Commercial and Industrial Solar; *Experience with prevailing wage is required*
- Present and negotiate change orders with the project owner for timely resolution.
- Negotiate cost-effective subcontract and material purchases
- Create and maintain a project on schedule; must be proficient in MS Project and Procore
- Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management regarding cost forecasting and estimated cost at completion.
- Manage, train, and supervise the project team according to Company policy
- Review contract conditions; ensure compliance with all contract terms
- Supervise documentation of all significant project events, e.g., accidents, delays, RFI’s, change orders, etc.
- Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontract bid packages
- Effectively manage project risk; evaluate probability and severity of risk events as they are identified/anticipated and prepare mitigation plans with project team and SRE operations management.
- Maintain quality control (integrity and excellence of completed project), including the development and implementation of a Site-Specific Quality Management Plan (SSQMP)
- Avoid or mitigate claims and conflict
- Complete all job close-out procedures
- Conduct warranty follow-up (typical 2-year warranty period)
- Develop and maintain good relationships with the Owner, Architect, and Subcontractors; develop strategies and skills to build a strong partnership with the Owner, while still ensuring prompt owner notification of impacts and preservation of rights per the Prime Contract.
- Extensive coordination with material suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and to develop solutions to logistical and supply-chain challenges.
- Negotiate and coordinate with local Contract Labor Provider(s) to ensure sufficient manpower resources at the most competitive commercial terms.
- Organize and lead regular meetings with the owner and key project partners

COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF SENIOR RENEWABLES PROJECT MANAGER
- Leadership ability – able to pull together team members from diverse backgrounds in a remote environment and organize them into a cohesive, high-performing project team.
- Strong computer skills with MS Office suite and other industry-standard tools, such as Microsoft Project and Procore.
- Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
- Thorough understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement, and estimating)
- Strong understanding of Commercial and Industrial PV and Energy storage construction means, methods, sequencing, and techniques from project development to permit to operate
- Understanding of utility & ISO interconnection sequence & durations
- Able to travel including job site-based assignments in remote/rural areas.
- Able to build trust and rapport with all team members
- Organizational and communication skills; must have strong people skills.

- Scope Analysis: Thoroughly review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to comprehend project requirements, identify potential complexities, and outline the scope of work.
- Material Takeoffs: Perform comprehensive material takeoffs and labor assessments to precisely calculate project costs.
- Cost Breakdown: Analyze project components, labor demands, material expenses, subcontractor quotations, and other pertinent factors to formulate a meticulous breakdown of project expenses.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project management, engineering, and procurement, to align estimates with project execution strategies.
- Bid Proposal Submission: Oversee the preparation and submission of competitive bid proposals to clients on time.
- Value Engineering: Lead value engineering discussions to explore alternatives that maintain project quality while optimizing costs.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Facilitate communication and negotiation with vendors and subcontractors to procure accurate pricing information and favorable terms.
- Industry Insight: Stay current with industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and technological advancements to ensure estimates remain competitive and relevant.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SENIOR RENEWABLES PROJECT MANAGER
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, and/or Engineering or a related field in Renewable Energy
- 3+ years of previous experience in project engineering or design, project controls, or project management
- Experience in multiple renewable energy technologies preferred (wind, solar, battery storage)
- 5+ years C&I (commercial and industrial) solar experience in; rooftop, fixed tilt & tracker and carport solar projects
- Engineering to commissioning and experienced in estimating and project management
- PMP-Certification is a plus
- Construction Management skills will be considered
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
