WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
The ENVIRONMENTAL Manager is responsible for the compliance of the organization’s environment, plan and designs and implements projects specific to environmental compliance and sustainability.
JOB DUTIES:
- The primary responsibility of this position will be to design, implement and supervise the company's environmental strategies.
- Ensure the organization adheres to environmental policies and act sustainably
- Manage the development and execution of environmental systems, identifying and resolving environmental issues, and ensuring projects align with environmental regulations
- Conduct site audits, evaluate the facility’s compliance with environmental regulations and identify areas of improvement.
- Provide expertise and consultative input regarding operational strategies, internal policies and processes that minimize the waste of resources and promote sustainable production
- Create and manage budgets for environmental, consulting, and other relevant activities.
- Lead environmental investigations for non-compliance incidents and provide coaching, responses and applicable feedback regarding environmental impact on operational issues.
- Coordinate waste management, monitor waste streams and look for improvement opportunities
- Work with the company's supply, sourcing, purchasing teams to ensure the procurement of company supplies that are sustainable
- Lead facility environmental training programs
- Provide project support for corporate environmental initiatives.
- Manager facility regulatory reporting and record keeping requirements
- Proactively engage in coaching, feedback and professional development
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
MINIMUN QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree Safety / Environmental / Safety Science / Engineering or related areas of education
- Valid current State Driver’s License
- Experience in implementing safety programs in manufacturing
- Proficient in MS Office, E-Mail and Internet functions
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and the safety regulations
- Meet the company performance standards for the job
- Ability to work as a team and follow instructions
- Ability to perform all job functions safely and maintain assigned tools and equipment
- Complete mandatory drug, medical and physical testing
- Participate in company orientation and training
- Ability to multi- task and adjust to changing schedules, maintain organization and flexible attitude
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, establish and maintain effective relationships with employees / departments
- Ability to guide, direct and motivate employees and organize and supervise various safety training activities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years in a health and safety role, OSHA experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- OSHA 30 Certificate
- Bilingual (Spanish / English)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to sit for an extended period of time during work period
