We are looking for a Solar Foreman for on-going solar projects in Bakersfield, CA.
Job Summary
The Solar Electrical Foreman functions effectively as the site manager for projects that he/she is supervising and will help motivate, drive, and manage his/her team to ensure assigned tasks are completed within the allotted time frame and budget.
Additionally, this role will provide necessary planning, organization, direction, communication, and control between the various internal and external parties that impact the timing and profitability of assigned projects.
The Electrical Foreman is an essential component to the Capitol Valley Electric Management Team!
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for the construction worker agreement of subcontractors, inspection and logistics of large-scale roof and ground mount PV electrical systems.
- Solar/PV construction & commissioning.
- Inspection services for solar/PV, electrical and general construction
- Assist in lay out of work for crew.
- Preplan daily activities and ensure crew productivity to meet job schedule.
- Order and coordinate delivery of necessary materials.
- Comply with all documentation requirements and fill out all project related reports, such as: Daily Reports, Safety Reports, Inspection Reports, 2 & 3 week look ahead schedules, etc.
- Audit safe work practices, ensuring PPE is available and used properly.
- Assist Superintendent in training, appraising work performance and addressing complaints of employees in the field.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of crewmen.
Skills and Education:
- Valid CA Drivers License
- 3-5 years experience in Electrical Sub-contractor supervision
- 5-8 years of experience in Commercial Solar Electrical Work
- Knowledge of DAS or SCADA installations including but not limited to the installation of a systems weather station and various components.
- Ability to interpret the designs’ intent.
- Ability to interpret specifications and read blueprints.
Physical requirements include: sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and use of hands and arms to operate equipment. Must have a strong sense of balance and no fear of heights. Must be able to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
