As a Solar Project Developer at Centrica Business Solutions, you will assist in the development of solar and storage projects in the Central US market with primary focus in the State of Texas. The Solar Project Developer will work closely with business development, management, engineering, project management, and construction staff to identify, assess and structure technical and financial solutions for customers' renewable and energy efficiency needs. The Solar Developer will lead the project through Pre-Construction due diligence to contract.
The Solar Project Developer possesses a strong technical aptitude and the communication and business acumen to translate customer needs into technical guidelines.
Open to flexible work schedules working fully remote or hybrid but must be able to travel occasionally (approximately 4 to 6 days per month) as needed for site walks including overnight stays plus occasional travel to the Albany, NY office. Preferably looking for someone to be in Pennsylvania or Maryland.

Our Solar Project Developers contribute to the team by:
- Creating and managing cashflow models to capture all revenue streams specific to solar and storage projects.
- Coordinating with the development team and with the financing partner, communicate project updates and milestones achieved, provide transparency, and assist in document sharing.
- Overseeing and/or performing the Helioscope design and budgeting of projects.
- Auditing sites as needed for PV solar installation suitability, environmental limitations, structural limitations, etc.
- Developing professional quality proposal content for technically complex, multi-site PV solar and battery storage systems (BESS) installations.
- Managing 3rd party vendor relationships and Scope of Work/proposals. (i.e. Electrical and Structural partners)
- Developing proposals, reports and presentations in collaboration with the Solar Analyst.
- Preparing project technical write-ups and detailed project costing.
- Networking within the industry
The core components of success are (i.e. must haves):
- 5+ years of solar project development experience and/or Engineering or Operations of solar projects.
- Experience in commercial and industrial Solar projects is required with demonstration of full life cycle project experience from concept to performance. A clear set of completed solar projects that have been screened, audited, designed, installed, interconnected and commissioned with Permission to Operate.
- Financial planning and budget experience with the ability to develop a business case
- Highly self-motivated and ambitious
- High sense of urgency and a pro-active approach to problem solving
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- MS office, Excel, Word and Adobe proficiency
- Past experience and an up-to-date knowledge of best practices as they relate to solar and storage projects is preferred

- Additional experience related to O&M or M&V on projects
Required Education or Certification:
- A Bachelor’sDegree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business or a related field. OR Bachelor’s in Distributed Energy/Generation.
- Valid Driver’s License

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000-$115,000 + bonus + benefits]. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
