The Battery Autopsy Quality Technician IV will be a key contributor to the Quality Assurance organization and will heavily influence the overall quality of the ZincFive family of products. The Battery Autopsy Quality Technician will own the autopsy troubleshooting process and perform root-cause procedures for product failures. This position reports to the Quality Manager and will work onsite at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon.
Battery Autopsy Quality Technician IV Job Duties:
- Perform autopsy procedures on Sub C NiZn (Nickel Zinc) battery cells and LN3 NiZn monobloc batteries to determine root cause failures and provide feedback to improve overall product quality and manufacturing processes
- Statistically analyze, summarize, and report quality data from the autopsy process to troubleshoot product failures and identify the root cause(s)
- Work with the Quality department, Service/Support and Engineering to organize and prioritize the battery autopsy processes
- Assist the QA department to develop, implement and monitor quality initiatives for manufacturing and test equipment maintenance/repair activities
- Document, evaluate and report audit/assessment results to ensure successful closure and identification of improvement opportunities
- Assist the quality testing team with product inspection and testing
- Assist with other tasks/projects in the Quality Department as needed
Requirements:
- Associate degree in materials science, chemical engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years performing failure analysis
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals (electrical, electro-chemical)
- Experience in RCCA (Root-Cause-Corrective-Action) methodology
- Knowledge of quality tools, concepts and methodologies of manufacturing QA
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Work involves sitting, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Domestic and international travel by car, airplane, bus & train
- Requires close visual acuity, the ability to distinguish color,
- The ability to hear in warehouse, manufacturing, and office environments
- Exposure to hazardous materials, high voltage, and chemicals
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
