Job Description Summary
The two major responsibilities of this role are Engineering Manager for Configuration Management (CM) team and Engineering Planning Leader.
Engg Manager for CM team is a critical people leader role as part of the CMPD organization. This role involves in providing strategic leadership to CM teams at IEO organization by collaborating with global functional leadership. Also in this role, the individual is responsible in taking the team member capabilities to next level and grow them to take higher responsibilities.
The Engineering Planning leader (EPL) strategically develops and integrates Engineering Planning processes, that meet business needs across the organization. Involved in long-term planning, this role contributes to the overall strategy and provides leadership to the Engineering Scheduling team, across all technologies, with impact across the Gas Power Business.
The position will be primarily responsible to develop the engineering planning multi-year strategy, to build and drive the road plan for the standards maintenance plans as well as the transition from engineering scheduling to engineering planning. The EPL will partner with the Templates Management and Project Execution pillars of the engineering planning organization to respectively transform the templates management as a master data management domain, and the project schedule execution into a planning optimization all along the project lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to the Configuration Management team to deliver 3D CAD Models with PMI (Product & Manufacturing Information), Bill of Materials, documentation and to ensure the change management adherence.
- Effectively prioritize and resolve emergent issues for customers and supply chain.
- Drive visible harmonization of design, tools and process across Engineering & CMPD
- Manage team deliverables, execute on time and meet allocated budgets.
- Drive a strong operating rhythm, promote a strong vision and communicate progress on strategy.
- Serve as a coach, mentor and leader for direct reports.

- Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design and Configuration Management Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements.
- Set the strategy for Gas Power Product Engineering Scheduling Processes including multi-year roadmaps. Guide solutions to the overall strategic vision. Scope includes Flange to Flange (F2F), Accessories and Controls scope for Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Generator, Heat Recovery Steam Generation (HRSG), Balance of Plant (BOP) and Aeroderivative products.
- Establish measurement criteria for the process (KPIs) that align with how the process serves the organization and the Customer of engineering planning schedules. This includes but is not limited to templates and project specific schedules. Establish and maintain business processes and ensure implementation through Lean tools- Daily management, operating reviews, as applicable.
- Effectively collaborate and/or lead the collaboration with senior peers across organizations to ensure scheduling maturity and rigor are maintained across Gas Power technologies. Ensure the planning needs of the Projects organization that use and interact with the schedule plan are met. Ensure Integrated system design solutions and common process/practices are implemented to minimize non-value-added engineering & design efforts.
- Functionally Lead a team of master schedulers, dedicated to standards maintenance and transformation plan, aligning them to processes and the following of standard work.
- Partner with Engineering Project teams to define and maintain engineering planning process and data management. Partner with Equipment Planning teams to ensure engineering planning processes align into the complete project plan.
- Provide technical leadership on scheduling to other local/global personnel within the Gas Power Engineering function.
- Mentor others in Scheduling organization globally.
- Utilize expertise, experience and appropriate tools and methodologies (LEAN, Cost Out, etc.) to innovate and improve current business Scheduling processes. Lead the definition or modification of business processes, tools, practices, and techniques (QMS, PMOPs, PLM releases).
- Actively participate with leadership in developing, communicating, executing, and tracking of Scheduling organization's technical growth strategy globally (such as TGM – Technical Growth Model).
- Able to lead/manage cross technology and business wide impact program & projects, monitoring progress and ensuring that schedule/budget/quality requirements are met.
- Develop action plans to anticipate risks and respond to complex or high impact problems in the Engineering Planning function.
- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data to all levels of the organization (including EB+), providing status, identified risks and mitigation plans.
- Provides input and actively leads and participates on next steps for business scheduling strategy/evolution
- Timely and effective conflict resolution when technical scheduling decisions are involved.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Computer Science.
- 3 years’ experience in a technical leadership role within a Configuration Management domain.
- 5 years’ experience in an Equipment or Engineering Planning capacity.

- Leads with a Lean mindset and is skilled in applying Lean tools to improve operations, remove waste and continuously improve processes.
- Knowledge of GE Power’s products, processes, and organizational structure
- Demonstrated experience with working with Engineering Tools and their effective support of our processes. Tool development/improvement experience in PLM and Primavera P6 is desired.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with peers and leadership
