This German company operates in the renewable energy industry, primarily focusing on solar power projects. They handle everything from project development to maintenance, aiming to promote the use of clean energy solutions.
Role Overview:
As an Energy Storage Engineer, you will design innovative Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for large-scale applications, integrated with solar PV systems or independently. You will provide technical specifications, support procurement with BESS supply contracts, assist the sales team with cost calculations and customer meetings, and ensure smooth project execution during construction and commissioning. You will collaborate with the System Design & Innovation team to optimize BESS functionalities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop innovative BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) designs for large-scale applications, integrated with solar PV systems or functioning independently.
- Provide detailed technical specifications for BESS projects, ensuring they meet precise customer requirements (batteries, auxiliary equipment, control systems).
- Lend your expertise to the Procurement department, crafting technical specifications and warranty terms for BESS supply contracts.
- Partner with the Sales team, performing cost calculations and actively participating in customer meetings to champion BESS solutions.
- Support BESS site supervisors during construction and commissioning phases, ensuring smooth project execution.
- Collaborate with the System Design & Innovation team, optimizing BESS sizing and functionalities.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Experience working on large-scale energy generation projects, particularly solar PV and energy storage systems (a plus!).
- In-depth knowledge of electrical storage and control systems is a must.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications is essential.
- Excellent communication skills in English are key.
- You're a team player (m/f/d) with a structured and independent work style.
- Be prepared to travel internationally for approximately 25% of your time
