Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and commercially minded General Manager to lead the overall performance, profitability and sustainable growth of a business operating within a technical environment.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across all business functions, ensuring the achievement of business objectives, operational excellence, customer satisfaction and long-term growth.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Execute business strategy through effective planning and operational implementation.
Monitor business performance against strategic objectives and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Identify business risks, growth opportunities and areas for continuous improvement.
Drive innovation, efficiency and operational excellence.

Commercial and Financial Management

Drive revenue growth, profitability and overall business performance.
Manage and monitor annual operating budgets.
Support business development initiatives and strengthen key customer relationships.
Drive customer satisfaction, retention and long-term partnerships.

Operational Management

Oversee manufacturing operations, quality assurance and the delivery of products and services.
Improve operational efficiency, productivity and processes.
Ensure effective resource allocation, workforce planning and performance management.
Ensure operational capacity meets current and future business requirements.
Monitor operational performance against agreed objectives.

Leadership and People Management

Provide leadership, direction and support to the team.
Build a high-performing, accountable and collaborative organisational culture.
Drive employee development, engagement and performance management.
Align employees with company values and strategic objectives.

Stakeholder Management, Governance and Compliance

Develop and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, industry partners and other stakeholders.
Represent the business professionally in external engagements and industry forums.
Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements.
Maintain effective risk management, internal controls and corporate governance.
Promote health, safety, quality and environmental responsibility.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Science or a related field.
5–8 years' experience as a General Manager within manufacturing, mining, laboratory services or a related technical environment.
Proven experience in strategic and operational leadership.
Strong commercial acumen and financial management experience.
Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing business performance.

Advantageous:
