The Role
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to lead buy-side and sell-side M&A transaction origination and execution, supporting CCR’s strategic goals and energy transition initiatives. This person will be a pivotal member of CCR’s M&A team and a visible leader across the organization, helping to create and drive M&A opportunities in close collaboration with the Head of M&A and the CCR Executive Team. Our base expectation is to hire an individual at the Sr. Manager/Director level, but will consider a Senior Director position for a candidate with the appropriate level of experience.
This person will sit at the leading edge of multiple facets of the clean energy industry, rapidly develop a deep well of knowledge and industry contacts, earn competitive pay, manage and mentor a group of highly talented teammates and serve as an influential leader within one of the nation’s most active solar and storage developers. While primary transactions will focus on assets and portfolios, this role will be expected to support corporate M&A efforts also, as needed.
Responsibilities
- Work with Head of M&A and Chief Investment Officer to identify and evaluate project, portfolio and platform acquisition targets through renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar and battery storage
- Lead preliminary screening efforts for potential acquisitions; present findings to Executive Team on a routine basis
- Manage acquisition or sale processes from end-to-end, including valuation, risk analysis, bid/sale recommendation, transaction structuring, negotiations, documentation and closing
- Drive financial model development and valuation, including sensitivity scenarios
- Collaborate cross-functionally on diligence workstreams, including but not limited to development, legal, structured finance & tax
- Support development of long-term relationships and channel partnerships
- Identify and manage external subject matter experts, consultants and advisors to support transaction objectives
- Champion opportunities through approval processes, including Investment Committee and Board
- Lead market intelligence efforts and prepare quarterly updates on industry themes, trends and competitive intelligence
- Lead process improvement including pipeline management, screening tools and data analytics to enhance origination efforts
Desired Qualifications and Experiences
- BA/BS degree (MBA or other quantitative graduate degrees welcome)
- 4-6 years of relevant finance experience required (preferably in the renewable energy industry); investment banking, principal investing and/or corporate M&A experience is strongly preferred
- In-depth understanding of renewable energy project financing concepts, including tax equity
- Solid transaction execution and negotiation experience, with ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines
- Quantitative background with strong financial analysis and modeling skills
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
- Ability to work well with multiple teams cross-functionally and in offices across the U.S.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Unimpeachable ethics & integrity
- Leadership ability and a passion for providing mentorship, guidance and training to junior colleagues on the team

Compensation: The salary range for the position is $170,000-$220,000 plus bonus and benefits. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
