Role summary:
As a Subcontracts Manager, you will be dedicated to the assigned Project and work under the direction of the Project Manager. You will be responsible for all the Subcontract activities for the Project in terms of costs, time and Quality.
What you will need to do:
- Lead all post award subcontract management during the execution under the control of the Project Manager, monitor and provide guidance and recommend mitigation actions for subcontractors' post-award activities.
- Actively participate in close collaboration with the Procurement Manager in elaborating subcontracting strategies, negotiate and finalize subcontract agreements.
- Commercial and contractual management of the subcontractors including review of notices to correct, variations, claims, etc in coordination with the Project Contracts Manager.
- The role also includes management of: a) the interim and final payments to subcontractors, b) the subcontractor’s claims and variations, c) the notices and correspondence with subcontractors. All these activities must be performed in close collaboration with the Project Contracts Manager and the Project Controls Manager.
- Ensure that all Subcontractor Pre-Assessment and Subcontract Performance Evaluation are done in compliance with the procedure to improve the performance of company/project in Subcontractor selection.
- Finalize the Comparison Statement (CS) and make recommendations only for technically acceptable solutions with proper and documented technical-commercial and evaluation report and seek authority approval.
- Identification of contractual risks and implementation of correct mitigation actions for the subcontracting activities.
- Manage and negotiate all Variation Orders and get approvals and prepares amendments with the support of the Project Contracts Manager.
- Ensure continuous alignment with the Company Contractual Policy and Client Contractual requirements.
- Maintain the Project Procurement Plan up to date.
- Coordinate with other Site departments to get the necessary information related to the progress of the Project to manage properly all the Subcontracts;
- Organize and manage the Kickoff Meetings with Subcontractors, ensuring that all Contract terms and obligations are clearly explained and understood.
- Ensure, on a monthly basis, an update of the subcontractors’ claims table, the forecast of the subcontractors' budget and the identification of possible coming variation/risks.
- Ensure all records and files for each Subcontract are maintained in an orderly fashion and properly files.
- Manage the Subcontract close out and relevant taking over and final acceptance certificates.
- Ensure subcontractors performance evaluations is performed as per Company guidelines.
What you will need to have:
- Engineering University degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Civil Engineering
- Experience working with leading EPC contractors in the energy sector is essential.
- Work experience in EPCM contracts is nice to have.
- Contractual skills and excellent written skills
- Effective and efficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to perform under stressful situations.
- Cost estimation, planning and risk management knowledge.
- Good knowledge of ERP software and MS office.
- Basic knowledge of Primavera P6 software/ Microsoft Projects or other Project management tools.
