Description
The Senior Claims Advocate will play a dynamic role in our organization by providing technical expertise and claims advocacy services to our clients. In this role, the Senior Claims Advocate will be working alongside our partners, producers, account executive, and brokers; to manage claims relationship with major clients and to act as an ambassador for Lockton’s claims offering.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide-ranging portfolio of complex claims for Lockton MENA clients through the full claim’s lifecycle which will predominantly relate to Energy class of business including Renewables, Upstream and Downstream energy, and Power although a knowledge of other classes of business such as Property, Engineering and Liabilities would be advantageous.
You will build and manage relationships with clients to explain the claims process and manage their expectations throughout. You will also work with each client prior to any claims arising to educate them on how to be prepared for a claim should one arise, including the information and documentation required, the claims process and anticipated timescales for each step of the process.
This position requires a deep understanding of the claims process, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex claims effectively. The role is pivotal in ensuring that clients receive prompt and fair resolution of their claims, while also maintaining strong relationships with (re)insurance companies and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance and support to clients, answering questions, addressing concerns, and providing regular updates on claim status.
- Serve as the primary advocate for major clients throughout the claims process, ensuring their interests and represented and protected.
- Manage technical complex claims through the full lifecycle from first notification of loss through to resolution
- Work with clients to explain the claims process, information required and manage their expectations for each step of the process
- Prior to any loss, work with new and existing clients to educate on the claims process and how they can be prepared in the event of a claim
- Engage in effective negotiation and work with (re)insurance companies, loss adjusters, lawyers and forensic accountants and other parties to achieve reasonable claim outcomes for clients.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, insurance companies, loss adjusters, lawyers, experts, and other stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Liaise with the business to report relevant claims issues and provide advice on underwriting issues, wordings and construction thereof.
- Be actively involved in new business opportunities, identifying prospects, preparation of tender reports, tender presentations etc.
- Interact with other functions within Lockton (e.g. placing, actuarial, finance), to enhance claims service provided by the division’s claims team.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in insurance, business administration, law, engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Significant experience of managing complex claims from first notification of loss to resolution, with focus on claims management and advocacy services with in-depth understanding of insurance law and practice.
- Proven experience of building strong working relationships with clients, insurer claims representatives and colleagues across the claims practice
- Experience of engaging and managing technical third-party experts.
- Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be organized, proficient in using Microsoft office and be comfortable communicating with a wide range of clients and colleagues
- Certifications: professional qualifications (e.g. Dip CII, ACII, FCII, CPCU, AIC) and/or evidence of significant continuing professional development throughout career.
