Key Purpose:
Provide expert solutions regarding Renewable Energy production from sustainable sources, including wind, solar and hydro or marine power(Wave Motion)
· Research and develop plans on use of new machinery and equipment, production processes and ways to minimize impact on the environment
· Advise project management team on correct selection of sustainable source to produce energy
· Consulting with clients about the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of solar power systems, Onshore and offshore Wind power systems
· Developing a plan to transition to alternative energy sources such as wind, Wave, and solar power to reduce pollution and dependence on fossil fuels
· Performing analyses of potential sites for wind farms based on factors such as wind speed, terrain, vegetation, and proximity to transmission lines and load centers
· Review the design structures such as wind turbines or solar panels,
· Advise on developing materials such as outer coatings to improve efficiency of existing designs
· Develop Project documents on Safe working practices
Key accountabilities
· Ability to conducting tests to measure the performance of equipment in real-world conditions and environments prior to installation when required
· Analyzing data from experiments or field observations to identify trends or causes of variation
· Visit manufacturers to test the equipment prior to selection
· Working out the technical and economic aspects of new renewable energy sites, including wind farms, solar installations and hydro or marine power
· Carrying out site and ground condition inspections for suitability prior to installation of equipment
· Ability to interpret tide, waves and wind formations on sea, land, and coastal areas
· Ability to use computer modelling software to produce detailed designs and energy production estimates;
· Ability to ensure that the installation and running of renewable energy sites meets environmental laws
· Reviewing project plans, schedules of work and cost estimates
· Advise the Project Management on the integration of the renewable energy produced into existing systems
· Ability to test equipment and processes in a lab to make sure they are suitable for wide scale industrial use
· Ability of reviewing, writing, and presenting technical reports
· Liaising with energy providers, contractors and other engineering and science professionals
· Reviewing design of solar panels or wind turbines for commercial use, making sure they are structurally sound, safe for humans to interact with, and able to withstand natural elements such as heat, wind, sandstorms, and rain
· Collaborating and coordinating with internal and external stake holders on conducting research to develop new technology for renewable energy production
· Conducting environmental assessments of proposed construction or installation sites to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
· Collaborating Between Project Engineers and Other Professionals
· Ability to understand energy storage capabilities, microgrid, hydrogen, VPP, DSR, transformers
Specific requirements
Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, engineering design and mathematics.
15+ years of experience in the related field
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in renewable or sustainable energy
