Position Overview
The Wind Engineering Director,reporting to the Vice President of Renewable Engineering, will perform engineering activities to support project development and construction of Invenergy’s wind portfolio. The wind engineering team is responsible for the project engineering activities associated with the development and construction of utility scale solar projects. This position is located at Invenergy's headquarters in downtown Chicago.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage a team of approximately 15-20 individuals in a fast-paced, high growth environment
Implement continuous improvement processes for the wind engineering team
Coordinate and prioritize the wind engineering team activities
Coordinate efforts between the wind engineering team and various Invenergy departments including Finance, Project Management, Pre-Construction, Procurement, Development and Origination
Oversee training and development of the wind engineering team especially focused on supporting engineering and construction activities
Coordinate with the Performance and Technology team for support on Resource Analysis and Energy Estimates
Coordinate the reporting of key project metrics to the leadership team
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
10 years minimum experience in engineering, project management, and/or operations of utility projects.
5 years minimum experience in managing engineering, construction, or operations teams
Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Skills:
Master’s degree in engineering or MBA.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to multi-task and manage deliverables for multiple projects concurrently.
Excellent verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated interest in renewable energy.
Desire to work in a dynamic environment alongside people with multiple interests and backgrounds.
Experience in the design and construction of power plants, renewable projects and other energy facilities.
Some travel required.
