Public Works – Water and Wastewater Environmental Control

Hiring Range: $62,902 - $70,765per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Location: Wolfedale Yard, 3515 Wolfedale Rd, Mississauga
Hours of work: 35 hours/week
Under the general supervision of the Wastewater Manager you will provide administrative support for the Supervisor, Inspectors, and Technical Analysts. You will perform various clerical functions and acts as a liaison to internal and external clients for operational related concerns.
What you will do in this role:
- Maintain system records and files, types letters, reports, memos, take minutes and requisitions office supplies
- Input data for payroll and maintains personnel records, handles or directs inquiries regarding vacation, sick time, benefits, and WSIB matters
- Input data for and process sewer appeals, septic haulage permits and spill responses
- Maintain lab data and tracks lab performance for adherence so Service Level Agreements
- Handle inquiries from residents and other utilities regarding wastewater concerns
- Maintain the Management bulletin boards
- Responsible for banking, maintaining receipt book, preparing customer invoices and purchase requisitions if required
- Provide month end reports for the supervisor
What the role requires:
- Secondary school diploma with a minimum of one year job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
- Full G license preferred
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with management, staff and clients
- Ability to apply discretion and confidentiality on divisional issues
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner within a collaborative team environment
- Detail oriented to ensure a high standard of professionalism
- Strong customer service focus with ability to maintain prioritization
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Power point and a familiarity with Hansen operating system is an asset

Work Mode & Job Location:
In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
