As an Associate, Renewable Development (Permitting) you will be responsible for leading development, permitting, and regulatory compliance tasks for Invenergy’s Midwest portfolio of renewable energy projects (wind, solar, and battery storage). The role will focus on drafting permit applications, managing consultants, subject matter experts, and external parties from a diverse range of professional backgrounds, and facilitating permitting schedules and processes with the objective of obtaining approvals.
Compile, review, and organize permitting requirements in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
Draft, review, and organize permit application documents, data request responses, testimony, etc.
Manage consultants, subject matter experts, and external parties from legal, engineering, environmental, and construction backgrounds.
Review project layouts to ensure compliance with regulations.
Interface with state and local agencies to develop positive relationships and effectively communicate project objectives, benefits, and details.
Represent Invenergy in national and regional initiatives, conferences, and industry groups as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Juris Doctor, Master of Science, or similar graduate-level degree.
Experience with permitting, project management, and technical and/or legal writing.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ESRI geographic information systems.
Ability to quickly develop multidisciplinary expertise and act decisively in a fast-paced business environment with competing deadlines.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills.
Must be self-directed and detail-oriented, with the ability and desire to effectively lead.
