The GHS Environmental Action Club Advisor plays a crucial role in fostering environmental consciousness and initiatives within the school and local community.
Essential Responsibilities
- Club Leadership
- Facilitating weekly club meetings
- Guiding students in developing climate-oriented proposals and initiatives
- School Environmental Programs
- Overseeing the GHS composting program
- Coordinating school-wide Earth Week activities
- Supporting the Project Green Challenge
- Community Engagement
- Collaborating with local organizations (e.g., Zero-Waste Committee, PTAC Environmental Committee, Greenwich Green and Clean)
- Attending community meetings, often outside school hours
- Service Learning
- Assisting club members in organizing environmental service projects for GHS students
- Supervising service events, frequently outside school hours
- Environmental Culture
- Working to cultivate a school-wide culture of environmental responsibility
Qualifications
- Preference will be given to Greenwich High School staff, then to other Greenwich Public Schools staff
