Summary
You will serve as a Lead Recreation Fee Technician with National Park Service. This position is located in the Visitor & Resources Protection section of Grand Canyon National Park. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 1 night per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes. GS-06 Salary: $45,409 (Step 01) to $59,031 (Step 10). First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.
Major Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Leads three or more full-time employees on a regular and recurring basis in which the highest subordinate grade level is GS-05. Collects a variety of fees for a National Park. Creates new accountability records for the tracking of fee collection transactions and activities. Assists higher level personnel with auditing fee collection program components/systems (e.g., cash registers, road/trail registers, honor systems, automated fee machines (AFMs)). Assists in completing audit paperwork and documenting findings. Provides on the job training, mentoring, and coaching to employees, volunteers, and/or interns in accordance with established procedures and practices. Answers questions of other employees on procedures, policies, directives, etc. and obtains needed information or decisions from supervisor on problems that come up. Reports to supervisor on performance, progress and training needs of employees, and on behavior problems.
