The Role:
The Asset Management and Sustainability area is responsible for the development of asset policies, strategies and plans to determine the significant investment required into Ireland’s infrastructure. The area drives investment and the sustainability and innovation agenda for the organisation and leads on Environmental Regulation and Compliance activities, ensuring the quality of water and wastewater is continuously monitored.
The Policy and Reporting team are responsible for developing sustainability-related policies which will enable the realisation of sustainability commitments. This team also conduct monitoring, evaluation and reporting services against objectives outlined by the organisation internally and by external actors. The Policy and Reporting team guides the organisation's policy direction and ensures consistency and clarity across internal functions and across the tender development and evaluation process. The team will provide internal and external facing reporting and act as the ‘one stop shop’ for sustainability-related data.
Reporting to the Sustainability Reporting and Policy Manager, the Sustainability Reporting and Policy Analyst assesses and evaluates sustainability related policies and strategies. The role holder supports sustainability initiatives, ensures alignment with regulatory requirements, and maintains Uisce Éireann’s reporting mechanisms.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Research, analyse and strategies regarding sustainability policies and activities
Support the development and implementation of sustainability-related policies, strategies, standards and targets for assets and operational performance
Maintain an ESG dashboard for functional leaders and the executive team, measure and monitor progress against ESG strategies, goals, metrics, and performance targets.
Support the ownership of data accuracy around sustainability targets and progress reports
Working with Finance to assist on data reporting requirements under TCFD and CSRD
Strong understanding of what is required from Uisce Éireann in relation to the multiple reporting frameworks (SBTI, CSRD, TCFD, Social Value Impact, Carbon Accounting etc)
Assist with Life Cycle assessments to aid reporting on process and product innovations
Assisting with sustainability data and content creation for Uisce Éireann’s external-facing communications in conjunction with the wider business
Stay up to date with reporting frameworks and standards, and relevant regulatory requirements as well as rating agency expectations; identify gaps between these requirements and expectations and the company’s practices/activities and provide recommendations and implement changes a necessary;
Benchmarking of ESG performance against peers, and against industry trends and best practices.
Interpret and analyse evolving ESG regulations and frameworks at the local, regional, and international levels
Prepare regular ESG reports, including but not limited to sustainability reports, climate risk disclosures, and other mandated submissions.
Analyse ESG reporting data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and actionable insights for improvement
Champion Uisce Éireann’s commitment to sustainability, transparency, and responsible business practices
General Duties and Responsibilities
Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards
Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives
Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation
Other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
Experience in independently resolving customer challenges while maintaining high service standards.
Ability to develop effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders and ability to look for and listen to diverse perspectives.
Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and make improvement decisions that benefit the team/communities.
Proven track record in identifying opportunities for process improvements and innovation.
Demonstrate the ability to fix safety issues quickly and look for improvements in line with business strategy
