Are you an experienced Business Developer who thrives in an international environment where ownership, relationships, and commercial results go hand in hand?

At Solarplaza, we are looking for an International Business Developer to take ownership of sponsorship sales and commercial growth across our international B2B conferences in solar and energy storage.

This is a high-ownership role combining new business development, account management, and commercial strategy. You will work directly with senior decision-makers, industry leaders, sponsors, and partners across the global renewable energy sector.

Success in this role means making a direct and meaningful contribution to the growth of our international events and business:

Consistently delivering against sponsorship and partnership revenue targets.
Building and converting a strong pipeline of new business.
Growing existing accounts and developing long-term partnerships.
Building a strong network of senior decision-makers across the renewable energy sector.
Identifying new commercial opportunities and turning them into tangible results.
Maintaining a healthy, well-managed sales pipeline in Salesforce.

3+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, sponsorship sales, or account management.
A proven track record of owning commercial targets and delivering results.
Experience managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing.
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Confidence engaging senior decision-makers and industry stakeholders.
A proactive and hands-on approach to business development.
The ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Experience in renewable energy, events, or another international B2B environment is a strong plus.
Experience with Salesforce or another CRM is a plus.
Based within commuting distance of Rotterdam.
Willingness to travel internationally for conferences and industry events.

Preferred Experience

Experience selling sponsorships, partnerships, or B2B services.
Existing network within solar, energy storage, or the broader renewable energy industry.
Experience working with international clients and stakeholders.
Additional languages.

28 days of paid leave per year (based on full-time employment).
The salary range for this position is €3500 - €4900 gross per month, with the final offer determined based on relevant skills, professional experience, and qualifications.
A performance-based bonus scheme linked to revenue targets, with the opportunity to earn up to one additional month’s salary per year.
Initial 12-month contract with the intention to extend.
A solid pension scheme.
Up to 20 remote working days per year (after 6 months).
A €1,000 personal development budget per year (after 6 months).
