ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Do
Instrumentation & Control Systems
- Support the design and implementation of I&C system modifications and upgrades.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, and design documentation.
- Develop control system architectures and evaluate system performance.
- Define system interfaces, I/O requirements, and integration needs.
- Specify instrumentation, control valves, and related equipment.
- Assist with digital modernization initiatives and legacy system replacement projects.
Technical Support & Problem Solving
- Apply engineering principles and industry standards to technical challenges.
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex control system issues.
- Participate in engineering evaluations and design reviews.
- Recommend practical solutions that improve plant operations and reliability.
Project Execution
- Support project planning, scheduling, and execution activities.
- Coordinate with engineers, clients, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and help identify and mitigate risks.
- Contribute to delivering high-quality engineering solutions on schedule.
Nuclear Quality & Compliance
- Ensure technical work aligns with applicable nuclear industry codes and standards.
- Support compliance with NRC regulations and licensing requirements.
- Participate in peer reviews and quality assurance activities.
- Promote safe, reliable, and efficient engineering solutions.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Review engineering documentation, calculations, and drawings.
- Share technical knowledge and support less experienced team members.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Build strong relationships with clients and plant personnel.
Field Support
- Perform plant walkdowns and field investigations.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Interface directly with plant operators and customer representatives.
- Travel to nuclear facilities as project needs require.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
One of the following is required:
- 10+ years of relevant hands-on engineering or technical experience; or
- Completion of Naval Nuclear Power School and Prototype training, plus a total of 10+ years of relevant hands-on experience.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering or technical experience.
- Experience with analog and/or digital control systems.
- Experience supporting technical projects or engineering initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Nuclear Industry Experience
- Nuclear power plant engineering or maintenance experience.
- Understanding of plant operations, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting plant licensing or compliance activities.
- Field engineering experience within nuclear facilities.
Technical Expertise
Experience with one or more of the following:
- Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems
- Digital control systems
- Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- Control system integration
- Legacy system modernization
- Power generation facilities
- Nuclear codes and standards
- NRC regulations and requirements

Physical & Site Requirements
Candidates must be able to:
- Obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities.
- Successfully complete required security screenings and drug testing.
- Perform equipment and system walkdowns in industrial environments.
- Climb ladders and work in elevated areas.
- Enter confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas as needed.
- Work overtime when required.
- Travel periodically to project and client sites.
