Salary range: $25-$30/hr for undergrad and $40-45/hr for grad student, depending on level of experience
About the Position
Linea is seeking a part-time Policy Intern in our San Francisco office to support state renewable energy policy and RTO regulatory work. The intern will conduct deep dives on policy and market design issues, participate in industry group and stakeholder calls, and support data analysis. Candidates should be currently enrolled junior/senior undergraduate or graduate students, with a strong interest in energy policy and electricity markets. This is a paid, part-time internship of 10-20 hours per week, based in San Francisco with an expectation of approximately one day per week in the office
Responsibilities
Track and summarize state renewable energy policy developments, including legislation, public utility commission proceedings,incentiveand procurement programs, and permitting and siting rules
- Create briefings on individual markets, includingutility planning materials, load growth,and local policy
- Conduct deep dives on RTO and ISO regulatory issues, including interconnection reform, capacity and energy market design, transmission planning, and resource adequacy
- Participate in industry group, trade association, and stakeholder working group calls,synthesizing key insights for the commercial and development teams
- Support quantitative analysis of market and policy data,including interconnection queue analysisand pricing trends
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programin public policy, economics,environmental science, or a related field
- Demonstrated interest in energy policy, electricity regulation, or clean energy markets through coursework, prior internships, research, or independent work
- Strong writing and synthesis skills, with the ability to distill dense regulatory material into clear, concise summaries
- Comfortability with dataanalysis is a plus
- Ability to work in-person in our San Francisco office approximately one day per week
