Purpose
The CEEW’s sustainable water programme informs policy-making for the
sustainable developmentof water
resources and their effective management through research in the areas of:
mainstreaming circulareconomyinusedwatermanagementthroughplanningfortreatedusedwaterreuse;enabling water security under changing climate through developing
pathways for resilient water systems; assessingpolicycoherenceforinclusivewaterandalliedresourcesgovernance;andwateraccounting based planning.
For its sustainable water programme, CEEW seeks to hire a Programme
Associate having a good understanding of India’s water sector. An ideal
candidate should have a thorough understanding of urban water management issues
and challenges, especially considering the climate variability and change, and
the current policy discourse (supply and demand management, and used water
treatment, recycling, and reuse) for addressing them. The candidate should have
prior experience working in the used water management and circular economy
sectors.
Along with a policy research orientation,the candidate should possess strong data analysis skills and
support the organisation in accessing various existing secondary data sets,
such as those from the Census of India, Urban Local Bodies, Central and State
Pollution Control Boards, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Directorate of
Economics and Statistics, Ministry of Jal Shakti, India WRIS or any other data
sets available in the public domain. The candidate should have proficiency in
using statistical tools. Hands-on experience with geo-spatial tools and
experience of working in projects involving the engagement of urban local bodies
will be desirable.
