Summary
You will serve as a Telecommunications Specialist (Radio System Specialist) in the Administration & Finance Division. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.
Major Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Install, test, maintain, and service a wide variety of radio electronic equipment, systems, and devices. Monitor equipment or overall system performance and provide technical input to telecommunications planning efforts. Use radio industry standard test equipment to verify, calibrate, align, and adjust equipment and systems to meet standards and tolerances. Execute a scheduled preventative maintenance program for all components and infrastructure at all sites and makes timely replacements and/or repairs needed to minimize outages. Maintains records regarding system performance and maintenance operations. Provide technical support and proper user training to end users of the radio system. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
