Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of carpentry trade work that requires intermediate level skills to help construct, alter, maintain, and repair wooden buildings, structures, cabins, ships, boats, docks, boardwalks, bridges, floors, decks, handrails, fences, signs, partitions, panels, and/or other items made of wood, wood substitutes, and composite building materials.
Major Duties
Perform recurring building and /or utility maintenance and operation duties and to assist journeymen and other higher graded maintenance mechanics. Work will consist of carpentry, painting, plumbing, roofing, electrical, cement work, masonry, and operation of various types of motor vehicles, loaders, bobcat, and other equipment. Work with the care for common power and hand tools as well as work with the materials associated with the trades. Work from sketches, work orders, basic blueprints and verbal instructions which are complete in terms of type of job required and materials and methods to be used. Responsible for detailed layout, selection of tools and materials and for accuracy, completeness and adherence to standards.
