About the Role
The Environmental & Energy Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring contract operations comply with the Environmental Management System (EMS), Installation Energy Plan (IEP), and all applicable federal, installation, and contract-specific environmental and sustainability requirements. This role supports environmental stewardship, energy management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the contract.
What You'll Be Doing
- Ensure contract activities comply with the goals, policies, and requirements of the Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Support implementation of the Installation Energy Plan (IEP), including tracking energy performance and identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency and conservation.
- Monitor compliance with federal, installation, and contract-specific environmental and sustainability requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections, audits, and assessments to verify compliance with environmental, energy, and sustainability standards.
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and support documentation required for regulatory inspections, audits, and contract reviews.
- Coordinate with site personnel, subcontractors, and government representatives to resolve compliance issues and promote environmental awareness.
- Develop and deliver training or guidance related to environmental, energy, and sustainability procedures.
- Assist with integrating environmental and energy management practices into daily contract operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to environmental compliance and resource conservation.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting environmental programs comparable in scope and complexity to this contract.
- Working knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and applicable environmental regulations.
- Understanding of federal energy and sustainability requirements, including:
- Energy and water reduction initiatives.
- Renewable energy policies and requirements.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Energy Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), such as Maximo, is preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to successfully complete a Tier 1 Public Trust background investigation, if required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to government installations.
- Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- This position is primarily office-based but requires regular field inspections and site visits.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and safely navigate active construction, maintenance, and operational work sites. Duties may require prolonged standing, walking, bending, climbing, and the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- The position may require on-call availability and the ability to work alternate schedules, extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed to support mission requirements.
