Summary
This position serves as a Supervisory Recreation Fee Specialist in any organizational unit within the National park Service (NPS). The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of administrative duties that are associated with the management of fee revenue and donations collected from the public under the authority of Federal laws and regulations such as Federal Lads Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA).
Major Duties
At the full performance level (GS-9) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: This position will provide support in overseeing the daily operations of complex fee collection program which includes cabin camps, campgrounds, special use permits, and commercial use authorizations. Staff reporting directly to the incumbent include seasonal staff, a seasonal lead and volunteer camp hosts. The incumbent will lead collaborative recruitment efforts for all subordinate positions to seasonals staff and volunteers. The position is responsible for understanding and adhering to prescribed human resource policies during the recruitment process. The position will research, compile, and analyze data on park-level fee program operations and identify trends and patterns in the development and management of recreation fees. The Position will recommend changes to fee program policies, standards, methods, controls, and procedures to improve fee operations The position will coordinate the implementation of automated fee collection and reservation management systems. The position will serve as the Special Park Use Coordinator and will be responsible for the issuance of special park use permits.
