About the role
The Environmental Advisor is part of the sustainability and external relations team. They play a key role in delivering the site’s environmental projects. The advisor leads and coordinates concrete initiatives while supporting operations and construction teams in meeting legal and corporate environmental requirements.
Essential Duties
Project Management:
Plan, coordinate, and implement special environmental projects (site restoration, biodiversity, water management, etc.)
Monitor deliverables, timelines, and budgets for each project
Act as the environmental point of contact for project teams during various studies and field initiatives
Compliance and Permitting:
Advise and support operations and construction teams to ensure environmental compliance
Lead the preparation of applications for authorization certificates and other required permits, coordinating relevant stakeholders
Support the technical team in carrying out various environmental monitoring activities
Awareness and Training:
Develop and roll out environmental training and awareness programs tailored to field teams
Actively promote company policies and regulations, particularly in health and safety
Training & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in science (environmental engineering, biology, geology, water engineering, or related field)
Master’s degree in mining environment is an asset
Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the mining industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Valid driver’s license
Pleasure craft operator certification (optional)
Bilingualism (French and English)

Eleonore mine site (fly-in, fly-out from Montreal, Chibougamau, Matagami, Rouyn-Noranda, Val D'Or and Wemindji)
Schedule: 8 working days followed by 6 days off
Temporary 12-month contract
