The head of Battery Component testing steers all matters of the battery component (Cell, Jig, Stack, LV battery) related area in Region China within the scope of the rights and obligations assigned which covers testbench investment, testcase setup, operation, failure analysis, PEP milestone release (B/P/BMG/K ) and etc...
This position is to ensure the success of the establishment of the internal propulsion test center in VCTC and its operation with the management of test-field planning and implementation, test bench strategy, budget control, maintenance, safety governance and etc... Responsible for ramp up the knowhow and competence necessary for propulsion R&D verification tasks to strengthen the capability of the internal testing center of VCTC that's competitive in the China market.
Responsibilities:
- Guarantee of battery Cell/Jig/Stack evaluation and test release in region China
- Technical lead in Battery component testing committe with JVs, PowerCo. and CoE
- Ensuring the Test Ceter working safety, including personal and asset safety
- Participate in VCTC HV Working Group
- Cooperate with PowerCo. to shorten the new Cell development period and reach the financial target
- Implementation of Test Center Digitalization and AI-Powered
Qualification and skills required for the position:
- Master degree or above in electro chemistry, automotive engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 15 years working experience on automotive industry, ideally experience with HV battery testing and project management
- At least 8 years in leading role
- Knowledge in automotive industry, HV battery development technology and validation
- Experience in battery testing, including test strategy, definition, evaluation and operation
- Vehicle/battery development process PEP
- Functional or disciplinary team lead experience
- Fluent in English (German, Chinese is plus)
- Working experience in international OEMs
