About the role
The Technical Solutions Engineer provides technical support, development, commissioning, validation and documentation across SolarEdge energy systems, controller-based solutions and integrated third-party assets.
The role supports internal teams, field engineers, installers, EPCs, customers and regional teams by helping ensure systems are correctly designed, configured, commissioned, supported and improved through operation.
This is a technical role focused on system knowledge, problem solving, controller functionality, integration, commissioning support, documentation and technical issue resolution.

- Experience in energy systems, electrical design, controls, commissioning, renewables, PV, BESS, metering, BMS, SCADA, IoT or industrial automation.
- Practical experience supporting live technical systems, site commissioning, customer issues, field teams or system integration projects.
- Experience working with controllers, inverters, meters, gateways, routers, APIs, monitoring platforms or connected energy assets.
- Ability to investigate technical issues using logs, drawings, device data, system behaviour, tickets and site information.
- Ability to communicate clearly with field engineers, installers, EPCs, customers, product teams and internal support teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, organised and comfortable owning technical issues through to resolution.
- Able to maintain accurate records, provide timely updates and follow internal support processes.
Desirable
- Previous experience with energy network compliance regulations such as G100.
- Experience with PV, BESS, energy optimisation or grid-connected assets.
- Experience with BMS, SCADA, Modbus, BACnet, metering or control systems.
- Experience producing SLDs, technical specifications or electrical design documentation.
- Experience supporting RFIs, RFPs, customer proposals or commercial quotations.
- Able to use AI tools responsibly to support technical investigation, coding, documentation, data analysis, issue review and knowledge capture, while validating outputs against site evidence, technical standards and sound engineering judgement.
Preferred Skills
- Strong hands-on understanding of electrical systems within the energy industry.
- Ability to read and interpret SLDs, electrical schematics, control wiring, metering layouts, communication diagrams and network topologies.
- Good understanding of PV systems, inverters, meters, battery storage, generators, controllers and site-level energy control.
- Understanding of Modbus TCP / RTU, BACnet, MQTT, APIs, device registers, data points, device mapping and commissioning checks.
- Working knowledge of controller configuration, logging, debugging, upgrades, remote diagnostics and system validation.
- Understanding of metering topology, CT orientation, voltage references, asset hierarchy, data validation and site commissioning requirements.
- Knowledge of grid-connected and off-grid operation, including export limitation, generator integration, PV control, storage behaviour and control expectations.
- Ability to troubleshoot system issues across hardware, communications, controller logic, platform data, site installation and operational behaviour.
- Ability to develop, test and document drivers, scripts, control programs, data mappings and device integrations.
- Strong technical documentation skills, including user guides, commissioning notes, driver documentation, technical summaries and knowledge base articles.
