POSITION SUMMARY
Exact Solar is seeking a dependable and physically capable Warehouse Assistant to support daily operations at our solar supply facility. This role is critical to ensuring materials for solar installation projects are accurately prepared, staged, and delivered on time. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment on second shift.
SCHEDULE
Second Shift: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM depending on incoming load schedules. Hours may vary based on operational needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment at all times
• Receive, inspect, sort, and stock incoming materials, equipment, and supplies
• Pick, pack, and stage materials for solar installation projects with accuracy
• Load and unload delivery vehicles; verify shipment accuracy against packing lists and purchase orders
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely
• Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock replenishment
• Transport materials and equipment to job sites or staging areas as required
• Label, scan, and track inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) or manual logs
• Coordinate with project managers and field crews to ensure timely delivery of solar materials
• Report damaged goods, discrepancies, or safety hazards to the warehouse supervisor immediately
• Assist with returns, surplus material organization, and disposal of packing materials
• Follow all company safety protocols, DOT regulations, and OSHA guidelines
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout an 8-hour shift
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 lbs. occasionally with proper technique or team lift
• Stand and walk on concrete floors for the duration of an 8-hour shift
• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and reaching at or above shoulder height
• Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights when accessing racking systems
• Ability to grip, grasp, and handle tools, equipment, and materials repeatedly
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm motions including lifting, stacking, and sorting
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures including hot, cold, or humid warehouse conditions
• Ability to work in tight or confined spaces when staging or organizing materials
• Good manual dexterity to safely handle solar panels, conduit, and other project materials
• Visual acuity to read labels, packing slips, and scan barcodes accurately
• Ability to remain alert and physically active throughout the entirety of the assigned shift
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Previous warehouse, distribution center, or logistics experience preferred
• Forklift certification preferred; willingness to obtain certification required
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical certificate
• Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
• Basic math skills for inventory counting and verification
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), scanners, or inventory software a plus
• Experience with solar materials, electrical components, or construction supplies a plus
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and punctuality essential
