Trenton, NJ 08625Scope of EligibilityOpen to applicants who meet the requirements below.DescriptionUnder the close supervision of a Geologist 3 or other supervisory official in a State department or agency, conducts field and office work pertaining to sub-surface investigations, soil compaction, mineral resources, and other related geological work; compiles and analyzes geological data; does other related duties as required.Specific to the Position
The responsibilities will include the review and processing of Classification Exception Area/Well Restriction Area (CEA/WRA) proposals and to provide ground water technical support to CSRR's permitting program. The position also includes the issuance of the Discharge to Ground Water approvals in association with Remedial Action Permits.Preferred Skill SetThis position is responsible for the review of workplans, reports, correspondence, proposals, & studies which pertain to geology and hydrogeology, site remediation, well injection & other areas to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance with Contaminated Site Remediation and Redevelopment regulations, policies and procedures for Licensed Site Remediation Professional cases. It also requires the individual to advise and make recommendations on technical & policy matters on permit activities.RequirementsEDUCATIONApplicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester-hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.Five (5) years of professional experience in geology, geophysics, and/or hydrogeology.ORPossession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, or a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by thirty (30) semester-hour credits in geological subjects; and one (1) year of the above-mentioned professional experience.ORPossession of a Master's degree in geology from an accredited college or university.NOTE: All U.S. degrees and transcripts must be from an accredited college or university. All foreign degrees and transcripts must be evaluated for accreditation by a recognized evaluation service by the closing date of this posting.
