Procurement sustainability process design & integration
- Continuously review how sustainability requirements are reflected in procurement processes (e.g., supplier qualification, sourcing, contracting, supplier management) and identify areas for improvement.
- Derive procurement-specific sustainability topics from Omya's overarching corporate sustainability strategy, targets and regulatory commitments (e.g., CO₂ reduction, responsible sourcing, human rights, circularity).
- Propose and operationalize measures to embed sustainability criteria, clauses and decision gates into procurement methodologies, in close alignment with the OS&S delivery teams and the global procurement function.
- Support process standardization and alignment of sustainability practices across the end-2-end service scope, spanning Omya's headquarter and business units.
Focal point for procurement sustainability
- Act as the central point of contact for sustainability topics within the global procurement function, bridging corporate sustainability, category management, supplier management and OS&S process management.
- Translate external requirements (e.g., CSRD, CSDDD, CBAM, ESG ratings, customer requests) into clear procurement process implications and guidance.
- Drive awareness, training and adoption of sustainable procurement practices across procurement teams and relevant stakeholders.
- Represent procurement in cross-functional sustainability initiatives and ensure procurement's contribution to corporate sustainability KPIs is transparent and measurable.
Procurement analytics – design and requirements
- Partner with procurement staff (category managers, buyers, S2C/P2P process experts, supplier management) to identify analytics needs and define the design, scope and format of required analytics and reports (e.g., spend analytics, supplier performance, sustainability KPIs, savings tracking).
- Translate business questions into clear analytics requirements, mock-ups and report specifications that can be handed over to the OS&S Engage analytics team for technical implementation and number crunching.
- Ensure analytics outputs are fit-for-purpose, decision-oriented and aligned with procurement governance, KPI frameworks and sustainability reporting needs.
- Coordinate prioritization of analytics demand from the procurement function and act as the interface to the OS&S Engage analytics team throughout design, validation and roll-out.
Operational execution
- Oversee their field of responsibilities within the OS&S Process Management team and accomplish tasks in a quality and timely manner in order to maintain and develop the standard process model for procurement sustainability and analytics.
- Support Group-wide projects / initiatives (e.g., ESG reporting, supplier sustainability assessments, analytics platform roll-outs) and adhere to milestones in a quality and timely manner.
- Operationalize measures to improve sustainability integration and analytics design within procurement processes and introduce measures into the OS&S delivery teams.
- Operationalize efficient handover points between procurement, sustainability reporting and the OS&S Engage analytics team.
- Handle process-related issues on sustainability and analytics topics and resolve process-related exceptions promptly.
- Specify and document business requirements for sustainability data, ESG-related supplier information and analytics reports, and if required functional test scripts.
- Develop training materials as required for the process and maintain playbooks and training materials.
- Process scope for this role includes, among others, sustainable supplier qualification, ESG criteria in sourcing and contracting, supplier sustainability assessments, sustainability KPI reporting and procurement analytics demand management.
- Ensure procurement process consistency by clarifying data flows, system interfaces and control points across procurement subprocesses and coordinating with upstream and downstream teams to resolve gaps or inefficiencies.
Education
- University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Sustainability, Economics, or any other related field
Experience
- Min. 5 years of relevant working experience in a procurement, sustainability or analytics-related position and leadership responsibilities
Knowledge and skills
- Proven experience with sustainable procurement practices and/or procurement analytics design
- Solid understanding of procurement end-to-end processes (S2C, P2P, supplier management) and their interfaces with sustainability
- Knowledge of relevant sustainability regulations and frameworks (e.g., CSRD, CSDDD, CBAM, GHG Protocol, EcoVadis or similar)
- Experience in translating business needs into analytics requirements and report designs (mock-ups, KPI definitions, dashboards)
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and transformation initiatives
- Hands-on experience with SAP ERP, S/4HANA preferred; exposure to procurement and ESG/analytics tools (e.g., Ariba, Power BI, EcoVadis) is beneficial
- Strong problem solving and root-cause analysis skills with a bias to action
- Skilled in coaching and transferring knowledge to other teams
- Strong organizational skills and ability to execute
- Creative and critical thinking skills
Other requirements
- Excellent command of both oral and written English are required
- Good command of both oral and written additional language is beneficial
- Willingness to travel up to 10-15%
