As a Verification & Validation Engineer at GE Vernova, you’ll have the opportunity to apply transferable strengths, learn in a complex technical environment and make a real impact on the energy transition by helping ensure our control systems perform safely, reliably and as intended.

This role would suit an engineer with strong systems thinking, modelling, analysis, and technical leadership skills who wants to apply their expertise in a new domain. You may come from adjacent industries such as power systems, electrical engineering, automation, simulation, controls, protection, rail, aerospace, oil and gas, utilities, or other complex engineering environments where safety, reliability, and technical rigour are essential.

Job Description

What you will do:

Design and run test cases that help prove our control software works as intended, then share clear, practical results with the teams that need them.

Investigate test outcomes, supportdebuggingand help uncover the root cause when something does not behave as expected.

Work closely with engineering teams to communicate failures, align on nextstepsand help move issues toward resolution.

Support project delivery by making sure testing is planned, visible and delivered at the right time.

Help improve the way we work by spotting opportunities to reuse proven solutions, strengthenqualityand make testing more efficient.

Technical Skills we are looking for:

An understanding of how HVDC systems support the reliable transfer of power and the core elements that bring the system together.

The ability to read simple technical diagrams and understand the role of key equipment,signalsand interfaces within a system.

Confidence in building and running simple models with guidance, checking results carefully and using data to support clear, reliable conclusions.

A structured approach to control system configuration, testing and troubleshooting, with an understanding of how information moves through a system.

The ability to support routine studies, interpret results and spot when outputs need closer review or further investigation.
