Summary
This position serves as the Administrative Program Specialist and provides services to three National Park Service units. Primary duties include disseminating instructions on classification, staffing, recruitment, and training. For questions, contact Lisa Ford at lisa_ford@nps.gov.
Major Duties
Disseminating instructions on classification, staffing, recruitment and training. Assists in special employee programs examples include employee performance appraisals, individual development plans, Occupational Worker's Compensation Program, Employee Assistance Programs, etc. Responsible for coordinating many facets of the pay and leave process examples are administrator for time and attendance system, facilitates employee usage of paid parental leave, Family Medical Leave Act, etc. Coordinates training efforts and develops training material for multiple sites via multiple formats examples develops SharePoint content, written job aids, Standard Operating Procedures, on-site trainings, etc. Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary, but requires periods of standing, bending, lifting, filing, and carrying records or supplies. Working Conditions: Most work is performed in an office setting with adequate heating, lighting, and ventilation. Occasionally, incumbent will have to travel to other park sites and offices, and/or out of state training. Bandelier National Monument is comprised of over 32,817 acres, including a designated wilderness area of 23,267 acres and an 800-acre detached archeological section. The monument was created to preserve the numerous archeological and natural features that hold ancestral and traditional significance to 23 tribal nations. The monument's natural resources have been extensively surveyed and hold some of the most complete data sets for climate transition that exist in North America. Annual visitation exceeds 200,000. The monument is located 45 miles from Santa Fe, 32 miles from Espanola, and 12 miles from Los Alamos. Elevation ranges from 5,300 to 10,199 feet with headquarters located at 6,000 feet. Medical facilities, schools, and shopping are available in Los Alamos and White Rock. Los Alamos has one of the nation's best public-school systems.
