Our client, operating within the renewable energy sector, is seeking a technically strong Financial Accountant to take ownership of core reporting and compliance functions. This opportunity offers exposure to a fast-evolving industry where accuracy and financial insight are key to sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare annual financial statements in line with applicable standards
- Manage VAT and tax calculations, submissions, and compliance
- Process journals and perform detailed reconciliations
- Compile and analyse income statements and balance sheets
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
- Assist with month-end and reporting processes
- Support audits and maintain compliance with internal controls
- Provide financial insights to support business decision-making
Experience:
- BCom Accounting degree
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
- 3–5 years’ post-articles experience in a similar role
- Exposure to the renewable energy industry preferred
Skills:
- Strong financial reporting and technical accounting ability
- Solid VAT and tax knowledge
- High attention to detail with strong reconciliation skills
- Proficient in Excel
- Ability to meet tight deadlines in a structured environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
